Danish Friends of a Democratic Russia and BIO1711 Cinema invite you to a film screening of Taya Zubova’s documentary “Territory Without War”.
In her film, Taya Zubova tells how friendship and mutual support among Ukrainians, Russians and Belarusians defeat hatred and war.
In the documentary, citizens of these 3 countries are building a new world in Montenegro.
Ukrainians: a family from Mariupol, a mother and child diagnosed with cerebral palsy from Odessa, a girl who took her parents out of shelled Avdiivka.
Conscientious objectors to military service from Russia: a mand who crossed the Kazakhstan border on foot and a family who did not want to send their father and husband to war.
A couple in love from Russia, whose love the state outlawed, having recognized LGBT+ as an “extremist organization.”
Also, politically persecuted activists from Russia and Belarus.
The tragic stories of Ukrainians and the stories of persecuted activists have a lot in common. But there is something that unites them – the love for their loved ones and the inability to return home because of the war.
The film was released on Dozhd TV channel.
Taya Zubova, the director, will personally present the film in BIO 1711.
Film critic Anton Dolin’s reviewed the film, citat: “An interesting and sincere work. The “game” inserts are staged quite elegantly, and the characters for the interviews are well chosen. The overall impression is very positive – a professional, serious film done with feeling and thought.”
