Elena Nemirovskaya is a co-founder of the The Moscow School of Political Studies (1992) and The School of Civic Education together with Yury Senokosov.
In 1974, Dr. Nemirovskaya received her PhD in Art Theory and PhD in Philosophy from the Institute of Philosophy of the USSR Academy of Sciences .
Between 1966 and 1978, Elena Nemirovskaya published over 100 articles on the Philosophy of Art in leading specialist journals while working at the Moscow Research Institute of Theory and History of Art.
In 2002, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Dr. Walter Schwimmer, awarded the School of the Civic Education Council’s special Pro Merito medal.
In 2003, Elena Nemirovskaya was awarded the Order of the British Empire, which is the most excellent British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service.
In 2006, Elena Nemirovskaya was awarded the Hirosima Foundation Award for
Peace and Culture.
In 2008, she became an Officer of the French National Order of Merit .
In 2010, she was awarded a Polish Bene Merito medal.
In 2013, she received the Egor Gaidar Award .
In 2014, she was made a Chevalier of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland .

Elena Nemirovskaya will tell us about the School of the Civic Education. Many prominent russian politicians and civil society builders, among others Boris Nemtsov, Ilja Yashin, Eugenii Roisman, have attended some School sessions. Finally, Elena Nemirovskaya will answer questions from the audience.
