Talaka – Friends of Belarus in Denmark would like to invite you to the opening ceremony of the “Courage and Resistance in Belarus 2020-2023” exhibition of photos and graphics art.
This outdoor photo and graphics exhibition (9-23 August 2023) will present the timeline of the events in Belarus through the prism of the Belarusian photographers and artists. Starting from the rigged elections in August 2020 the exhibition will include the retrospective from the 2021 exhibition and include the chronology of the events triggered by Russia’s war in Ukraine.
The objective for the event is to show not only the facts about the protests for democratic changes in Belarus, but also resistance against the war in Ukraine, situation with the political prisoners, as well as to illustrate the awakening of the national consciousness.
Images and graphics presented at the exhibition are provided by the Belarusian photographers and artists, most of whom are currently in exile due to their political position. Many of the works have been created by political prisoners, and the exhibition is the way to tell the world their story.
